Low Sodium Turkey Meatball Sliders are an amazing football watching food. My husband loves a good meatball sandwich so I decided to make an easy, healthier meal for him while he watched the game. We have been using low sodium marinara while he is on his Lifetime Fitness 90-Day Challenge. We also made baked onion rings with a simple onion ring batter that paired beautifully with the sliders.
What makes Low Sodium Turkey Sliders one of our favorites is being able to toss them into the Crock-Pot and let them simmer. I usually make these by hand but our schedule has been so crazy, I decided to buy the turkey meatballs and just relax for the night and enjoy the game.
We usually have some sort of baked fry with our sliders, but I decided to switch it up and bake some onion rings instead. They turned out great and he wanted more once the first batch was done. They were that good!
- 1 Small Bag Frozen Turkey Meatballs
- 1 Jar Low Sodium Marinara Sauce
- 1 Bag of Wheat Buns
- 3 Tablespoons Dried Onions
- Place Turkey Meatballs in the Crock-Pot on low heat.
- Pour your jar of Low Sodium Marinara into the Crock-Pot.
- Add the dried onions.
- Let simmer on low for 4 to 6 hours.
Serve these up on your slider buns and sit back and enjoy the game. These are great if you’re hosting a football party too because it’s easy to keep them warmed up in the Crock-Pot all day long for your guests to come back and fix their sliders as they get hungry again.
