Recipe type: Dessert
Serves: 15-20 truffles
Ingredients
  • 8 ounces white chocolate (chopped, or chips)
  • 5 Tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 3 Tablespoon heavy whipping cream
  • ½ teaspoon orange extract
  • ¼ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ¼ teaspoon grated orange peel
  • Pinch of ginger
  • Pinch of cinnamon
  • Pinch of salt
  • ¼ cup dried cranberries, diced
  • Optional: additional white chocolate and dried cranberries for garnish
Instructions
  1. In a double broiler over low heat, combine chocolate, butter, and heavy cream, and stir until melted and smooth.
  2. Add orange and vanilla extracts, orange peel, ginger, cinnamon, salt, and diced cranberries, and stir to combine.
  3. Remove from heat and let cool for a few minutes.
  4. Transfer to a bowl and cover with plastic wrap. Place in fridge for a couple hours, or until it has firmed up and you no longer see liquid pooling on top.
  5. Cover a baking sheet with wax paper and set aside.
  6. Use a small cookie scoop (or melon baller or tablespoon) to scoop out mixture and roll into balls. Place each ball on the prepared baking sheet and place the sheet back in the fridge for 15-30 minutes.
  7. This is optional, but highly recommended: Melt some more white chocolate (1/4 cup will likely be plenty) and drizzle it over the balls. Top each with a whole dried cranberry. Enjoy!
