A delicious orange spin on the classic hot toddy, this beautiful Orange Cinnamon Hot Toddy recipe delivers the perfect winter cocktail for cozying up by the fire.
The hot toddy is just about the perfect winter cocktail, don’t you think? It’s tart, yet sweet at the same time. It’s warm and cozy, and warms you from the inside out. It’s easy to make, and you can customize how tart or how sweet you like it.
In a classic hot toddy, you add boiling hot water to whiskey, lemon juice, and sometimes a bit of honey. The honey and the citrus balance each other out, while the whiskey and the boiling water make you feel like you are drinking a hot cup of comfort.
While I love the classic, sometimes adding a different spin can be so much fun and so tasty!
Orange Cinnamon Hot Toddy Recipe
This Orange Cinnamon Hot Toddy recipe puts a seasonal flavor spin on the classic winter warmer. The orange naturally sweetens the cocktail, while the cinnamon adds that flavor we all crave this time of year.
I didn’t feel that this orange cinnamon toddy needed the honey, as the orange juice kept it sweet enough for me. I also switched out the classic whiskey for rye or bourbon, to get an even smoother, sweeter cocktail.
Just look at that cinnamon! I love creating unique, special versions of my favorite classic cocktails and I hope you do too. Give this one a try and see if you like it. Cheers to cozy, warm, winter cocktails!
